What Sized Room?

Pool and snooker tables differ both in size and in the way they are measured.

Common sizes for UK made pool tables are 6' x 3'6", 7' x 4' and 8' x 4'6" whereas common sizes for snooker tables are 6' x 3', 7' x 3'6", 8' x'4', 9' x 4'6", 10' x 5' and 12' x 6'.

Pool table measurements are taken from the outside of the framework which the cushions are bolted to and snooker table measurements are taken from the back edge of the cloth covered cushion block.

Pool and snooker cues are different lengths, depending upon the size of the table used. Generally speaking, If the table is less than 8' in length, then either the 48" medium length cue or the longer 57" cue can be used, whereas when the table is 8' or more then the longer 57" cue is used.

We recommend that tables of 8' or more in length have at least 5' (60") of space around each side of the table. For example, a 12' x 6' snooker table will require a room size of 22' x 16' when a 57" snooker cue is used. In another example, a 7' x 3'6" snooker table will require a room size of 17' x 13'6" using a 57" cue, or it will need to be 15' x 11'6" when using a 48" cue.
